Excellence Resorts Rum recipes

Any serious lover of rum cannot think of it without thinking about the Caribbean. Whether or not rum originated in this region of the world or not, most serious rum fans agree that the Caribbean is the spiritual birthplace of this noble liquor.

Rum Collins

This is a cocktail based on the Tom Collins substituting a light rum for the gin.

Rum CollinsIngredients
1 1/2 oz White Rum
1 oz Natural Syrup
1 oz Lemon juice
3 oz Soda
1 Lemon slice

Directions
Pour ingredients into a shaker except the soda.
Shake vigorously.
Pour ingredients into highball glass.
Top up with soda.
Decorate with lemon slice.

Reyna Montez

Maria Montez was a Dominican actress who gained fame and popularity in the 1940s as an exotic beauty. As a tribute to her centennial, the bars manager at Excellence Punta Cana (Joel Santana), drew up an exquisite and well-crafted cocktail that in every sip, transports you to the glamorous actress lifestyle.

Reyna Montwz

Ingredients
2 oz White Rum
1/2 oz 
Peach liqueur
1 ½ oz 
Midori liqueur
½ ounce lemon juice
1 Lemon slice

Directions
Pour ingredients and 4 pieces of ice into a shaker.
Shake vigorously.
Pour into margarita glass over crushed ice.
Garnish with a lemon slice.


Zombie Imperial

A drink only for true rum lovers in which you can taste the different styles of this liquor and combine it with a variety of fruit juices.

3 oz Barcelo Imperial rum
1 oz White rum
2 oz Cointreau liqueur
3 oz Orange juice
3 oz Pineapple juice
1/2 oz Grenadine syrup
1/2 oz Lemon juice

Directions
Pour ingredients and 4 pieces of ice into a shaker.
Shake vigorously.
Pour into a glass over crushed ice.
Garnish with an orange slice.

Sour Rum Dominicano

For the sweet and sour lovers, here you are our particular Domincan version of the Sour Rum.

Rum_SourIngredients
1 1/2 oz Rum Aged
1 oz Lemon juice
1/2 oz Natural Syrup
1 oz Blue Curacao Liqueur
1 Lemon slice
1 Cherry

Directions
Pour the ingredients and the ice into the shaker.
Shake vigorously.

Serve into a martini glass and garnish with a lemon slice and cherry.

Hemingway Special

A classic mixed drink inspired by Ernest Hemingway.

4 oz White Rum
1 oz Lemon juice
2 1/2 oz Grapefruit juice
1/2 oz Maraschino

Directions
Pour the ingredients and the ice into the shaker.
Shake vigorously.
Serve into a martini glass and garnish with a lemon slice and cherry.

    When we were there in January we had a drink of the day called the Dominican Dream. Could I please have the recipe for that? It was to die for!!!!!

    • Hola Pam, we have the Dominican Drink (not sure if this is the one you mean)

      1 ½ oz mango juice
      1 ½ oz orange juice
      1 ½ oz pineapple juice
      1 ½ oz lemon juice
      1 ½ oz grenadine
      ½ oz rum
      ½ oz triple sec

      Long Island Ice Tea
      0.5 oz White rum
      0.5 oz Tequila
      0.5 oz Vodka
      0.5 oz Gin
      2 oz Orange liqueur
      2oz Lemon juice
      An optional a dash of sugar
      A splash of Coke

      Mix ingredients together over ice in a glass. Pour into a shaker and give one brisk shake. Pour back into the glass and make sure there is a touch of fizz at the top. Garnish with lemon.

    Hi, I was wondering if I could have the recipe for the mango martini…the best drink I’ve ever had!!!

    • Hola Susan! here you have our Mango Martini recipe:

      2 oz Vodka
      1 oz Mango mix (mango concentrate)
      A dash Lime Juice

      To make the Mango Martini add all the ingredients to a shaker and fill with ice. Shake, and strain into a Martini glass Garnish with a lime slice and a cherry.

    • Hi Claire! Here you are our Mango Daiquiri recipe:

      1 ½ oz Ron Havana aged 5 years.
      2 oz Mango mix (mango concentrate)
      1 oz Orange Juice
      A dash of Lime Juice
      A dash of natural syrup.

      To make the Mango Daiquiri add all the ingredients to a blender with ice; blend all the ingredients. Garnish with a pineapple wedge or one umbrella.
